You have Microsoft Visio and want to model subject-oriented processes with PASS? Then the free Abstract PASS Visio Shapes are the quickest way in, and version 1.1.0 is their biggest update in years.
The three stencils cover Subject Interaction Diagrams, Subject Behavior Diagrams and data modeling. Their macros keep your model consistent while you draw: messages, senders and receivers stay in sync between the diagrams, models can be checked and simulated, and everything can be exported to the Standard PASS Ontology.
New in 1.1.0
- Aspect-oriented modeling: declare aspect subjects whose behavior is injected into other process models at run time, configure where and how they are injected and which data they need, and export them to OWL following the aspect-injection extension of the Standard PASS Ontology.
- Semantic Check (AI): let a large language model check your labels against the PASS naming conventions, with Claude, OpenAI, a local or OpenAI-compatible service, or in a manual mode.
- Interface SIDs: generate the counterpart SID for interface subjects with one click; both pages stay synchronized.
- OWL export as JSON-LD in addition to RDF/XML.
- A reworked ribbon, a more reliable Model Check and Simple Simulation, and a thorough clean-up of the macro code.

Copy the three .vssm files directly into your My Shapes folder (DocumentsMy Shapes), open Visio, allow the macros of the stencils and start with Create New SID Page on the ALPS/SBPM tab. The stencils need the Windows desktop version of Visio.
